Follicular monitoring is a fertility ultrasound procedure used to track the growth and development of ovarian follicles throughout the menstrual cycle. Using regular transvaginal ultrasounds, usually every 1–2 days — fertility specialists can monitor how follicles mature, estimate ovulation timing, and optimize the timing of fertility treatments or natural conception attempts.

Follicles typically grow around 1–2 mm per day, and close monitoring allows your doctor to make precise decisions regarding medication adjustments, ovulation timing, IUI scheduling, or egg retrieval planning. The procedure is quick, safe, minimally invasive, and usually takes around 10–15 minutes.
